X-JET NOZZLE UPGRADE
Share
One of the questions Doug has received recently centers around an X-JET NOZZLE UPGRADE. Let's say you have a 4 gpm machine and you are upgrading to an 8 gpm machine. The question is: Do I have to buy a whole new X-Jet? And the answer is, NO! You do not! Here is the direct product link for the X-Jet Chemical Injection Nozzle. The simple solution to this is to simply change the size of the orifice inside the X-Jet nozzle. And remember there is both a spring and an orifice inside. It's important to remember to take it apart pointing upwards so that what's inside doesn't fall out. You could easily lose these small pieces if that happens.
ORIFICE NUMBERS
For an X-JET NOZZLE UPGRADE assembly, you'll find each orifice has a small number on it. At the 3:39 time stamp, you can see a picture of this as our example. Once you determine the what gpm your machine upgrade is, you can then order just the orifice for that machine. The product website has the appropriate number for the orifice based on the gpm of your machine. Putting it back together, the orifice goes in first, then the spring, then the plug fitting. You can actually change out the orifice size as many times as you want. Always use a small wire brush to remove teflon tape and other debris from the threading. Then apply another round of fresh teflon tape. When you order an orifice, you get one orifice, so be sure and order spares if you would like. So the point is, you don't have to buy an entirely new X-JET NOZZLE in order to upgrade to faster gpm machine. If you plan to use both machines, perhaps it's best to order a whole new set up to avoid having to change out the orifice.
REPLACEMENT SPRINGS
You may also find a need to order replacement springs for your X-JET NOZZLE UPGRADE. Bleach will cause the spring to eventually corrode and fall apart inside. They are very inexpensive, and universal for all orifice sizes. Be sure and watch the entire video for another question I answer about the size of the hose that you get.
