SOFT WASH GUN REPAIR
Share
This SOFT WASH GUN REPAIR video post is for the UDOR soft wash gun that we sell at Doug Rucker Store. You'll want to order the repair kit to rebuild it. Of course, you could always just buy another gun if you prefer. But if you want to save a little money, taking the time to rebuild or repair it is one way to do so. The other gun that we sell is the Sutner Orange Spray Gun. It also has its own repair kit. At about 2:45, Raymundo walks you through step by step taking the gun apart. A brass nut is the first thing to come off. Next, a small spring will come out.
DOOHICKEY # 1
Don't miss the little DOOHICKEY #1 right after the spring for this soft wash gun repair. There is a very small washer on it, and it's important to lay each part out in order. This will be extremely helpful when its time to rebuild the gun with new parts. Next, use a pick to flush the pin from the trigger handle. Then there is a tiny needle that needs to come out. Right at 4:00, Raymundo pulls off what could be the trickiest and most challenging step. Notice that while the two needles look almost identical, there is a difference between the ends. Don't mix them up! Two more small parts come out, and you'll see them all lined out in order. The new kits has three new o-rings so pay attention to how they line up as well. There are a lot of small steps that must be done correctly for a soft wash gun repair to work like it's supposed to.
REASSEMBLY STEPS
At the 7:15 time stamp, Raymundo puts it all back together in the right order using the new parts. Before tightening the final brass nut, make sure you can see the needle through the hole looking down into the gun. There is no reason to over tighten and risk cracking the plastic. Just make sure it's snug, but not too tight. The entire process takes about 15 minutes max to complete. Another suggestion to extend the life of all your guns is make sure you run plenty of clean water through them. You don't want any bleach setting inside. If it's put back together correctly, the trigger should spring back and forth easily. Don't forget we now offer monthly training events on SATURDAYS.
